Scandinavian Stipend Foundation
Purpose: The purpose or mission of the foundation is to promote a positive relationship between the United States and the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden via a stipend (similar to a scholarship) program; each year a stipend is awarded to one applicant. Stipend Goal: The goal of stipend is to provide financial assistance to a current or prospective Scandinavian student whom is studying in the United States or has a general interest in the U.S. The stipend is also applicable to an American student who speaks a Scandinavian language. The financial support is to assist with the recipient's academic or career goals or financial hardships, including but not limited to: immigration, emigration, and temporary re-location.
Organization Status:
The Scandinavian Stipend Foundation is a not-for-profit organization. All stipend funds released to the awardee(s) comes personally and directly from the founder of the organization. From a legal stand-point, SSF is not a 501c and currently operates as a single-person operated organization. As of June 2021, SSF has begun the process to become an LLC.
Stipend Amount:
The goal of the foundation is to provide the most amount of money to one or more students each year. Currently, the foundation promises a minimum of $500 to one student per year. The amount of the award and the number of awards is contingent upon the current fiscal year.
